Orchestrating AI for Marketing Advantage

Integrated Intelligence Shaper

Editor’s Note: Marketing leaders need to look beyond the speed and novelty of AI tools toward the intelligence systems that can deliver consistent, measurable value. Csongor Fekete’s perspective highlights why coordinated agents, proprietary data and specialized models deserve closer attention as organizations build more resilient marketing capabilities.

When a Demo Isn’t Proof

AI adoption is entering a phase that is both more accessible and more difficult to navigate.

“Vibe coding” allows almost anyone to turn an idea into a working prototype. That is a welcome lowering of the entry barrier, marketing teams can test concepts faster and involve more people in innovation. But it also makes genuine AI and machine-learning expertise harder to distinguish from the ability to assemble a compelling demonstration. For marketing leaders, the answer is not to resist democratization. It is to evaluate solutions on repeatable performance, integration, governance and measurable business outcomes not on how impressive the first demo looks.

The pace of model change adds another challenge. A newer foundation model may follow instructions differently, call tools differently or produce a different tone from the model it replaces. Switching models is therefore rarely a simple upgrade. Customer journeys, integrations, brand controls, regulatory requirements, languages, edge cases and failure modes may all require end-to-end regression testing. “Newest” does not automatically mean “best” for every marketing task.

Agents as Harmonizers, Not Islands

The strongest marketing architectures will use different forms of AI for the jobs they perform best. Specialist predictive and optimization models can determine who should receive an offer, what that offer should be, when it should arrive and where an audience or opportunity is located. An LLM can then tailor the wording, tone and format. An agentic layer can coordinate these capabilities, applying them as tools in pursuit of a defined business goal.
This integrated, holistic approach is more powerful than deploying disconnected “island AIs.” An agent might interpret a campaign objective, consult a targeting model, request a product recommendation, check a right-time model, generate appropriate content and trigger the next approved action. In that role, agents become goal-oriented harmonizers of the wider marketing intelligence stack.

Agentic automation will undoubtedly produce quick wins. It can accelerate reporting, campaign setup, content adaptation and routine workflows often making activities companies already perform faster and easier. However, these capabilities will also become readily available to competitors. Agentic execution on its own is therefore likely to become table stakes rather than a durable source of differentiation.

  • Agents Are the Interface. Your Data Is the Advantage.

The Advantage Beneath the Agent

The more defensible advantage lies beneath it, proprietary data and custom AI/ML models that reflect a company’s customers, portfolio, context and accumulated behavior. LLMs are not designed by default to derive reliable, continuously optimized decisions from large volumes of structured transactional, behavioral and external data.

Consider recommending the next-best offer across 100,000 customers and more than 15,000 SKUs while also handling the cold-start problem for new customers and products. No marketing team can evaluate those combinations manually. HolistiCRM’s Earth Observation-powered recommender, EOPAIR.AI, can turn portfolio, behavioral and external data into decisions at that scale. BeSpatial.AI can combine internal customer value with external spatial data to identify the most promising locations for reaching five-star customers. These are not simply faster versions of human tasks; they create decision capabilities that humans could not practically deliver unaided.

The organizations most likely to lead will invest in both layers simultaneously, agents that coordinate action and specialist, data-driven models that provide differentiated intelligence. The agent may become the interface, but the lasting competitive advantage will come from the proprietary data, models and integrated system behind it.
